Practice Transitions Seminar – Key Largo, FL

Practice Transitions Seminar – Key Largo, FL

This important seminar is designed for the doctor who is contemplating a practice transition.  That could be for (1) the busy doctor looking to take a partner or (2) the senior doctor thinking about retirement and selling his or her practice or (3) the younger doctor contemplating buying a practice or becoming a partner.

Most of the issues (for example, how to value a practice) will be equally relevant whether you are the potential buyer or the potential seller. We will point out the pros and cons of the various issues from each side’s point of view. This is a no-nonsense, intensive 8 hour course.

Often, both Dr. Seller and Dr. Buyer attend this seminar together
Because they learn what to expect throughout the transition process and how the transaction needs to be structured so it is fair to both parties.

For over 60 years, the Ocean Reef Club has been a retreat for the world’s most celebrated families, hosting presidents and dignitaries from around the globe. It is an exclusive hideaway – unless you own a home or are the guest of a homeowner, you cannot visit Ocean Reef unless you are attending a meeting.   We had two very successful seminars here in 2012 and everyone loved the property.  Here, at the world’s largest private club, on this scenic island destination, accomplished leaders have come for renewal before returning to the highest echelons of business and public life.

The intimate oasis of Ocean Reef Club with its tropical abundance of things to do is just an hour south of Miami on the island of Key Largo.  With its rare blend of natural beauty and fine-hewn luxury it lets work flow easily into play.

Guest rooms are luxurious and have been completely renovated.  With the scent of tropical flowers twining below the window, the harmony of details and the play of tropical colors, Ocean Reef feels like a stay in paradise.  There are marble floors, natural stone in the baths, sunken tubs, flat-screen TV’s, incredible views and nearly always perfect weather.  A careful investment of 50 million dollars in guest accommodations over the past three years has made the rooms truly elegant.

GOLFING
The Club boasts two championship 18-hole courses, a rarity in the Florida Keys – even among standard golf country clubs.  Although the Hammock Course and the Dolphin Course offer distinctly different tests of golf, both feature scenic vistas and an enjoyable challenge for players of all levels.

  • The Hammock Course – A challenging 6,200 yards par-71 Ocean Golf Course. Partially situated in a mangrove and tropical hardwood hammock, it contains many rare and endangered species of plants for players to observe and enjoy. This ocean golf course is considered the more scenic of the Club’s courses and is a true test of target golf.
  • The Dolphin Course – The Epitome of Island Golf in the Keys. This 6,500 yard par-71 course features fairways that wind past tamarinds, coconut palms and mahogany trees, as well as other exotic landscaping.  Glittering water hazards delight the eye and call for accuracy.  This island golf course allows much more margin for error off the tee, with quite generous fairways.

WATERFRONT ACTIVITIES
Surrounded by water on three sides, Ocean Reef Club boasts tremendous waterfront and shorelines.  There is something for everyone: sailing, kayaking, flyfishing, cruising on myriad watercraft, snorkeling, and deep sea fishing or gulf fishing.
